To create these surreal-like photos our in-house talent, Kristy Snell explored the idea of reflecting objects on a mirror. This simple, yet effective, technique challenges the viewers’ perceptions of reality as objects appear to be flying or floating on a blue background. The flipping of the images, and the gradient in the blue background, creates a dream-like look and feel as the viewers are invited to perceive the background as water or the sky. Her use of contrasting colours, and the absence of a definable space, is what makes these images so fun and striking as they provoke attention.
